The normal interval
Four to six weeks suits most hair. Fast-growing or very fine hair often needs the shorter end of that range; slower growth can stretch to eight weeks without much risk.
Signs you have waited too long
Locs starting to join at the roots, a fuzzy halo that will not smooth out, visible loosening at the base, or locs that feel heavy and unstable.
What happens in the appointment
We clean up the grid, retighten new growth at a safe tension, separate any locs beginning to marry and flag anything that needs repair before it breaks.
